CLIPSYNC LAUNCHES NEW VIEWING PARTIES APPLICATION FOR FACEBOOK

WATCH NEW SEASON OF BIG BROTHER 11 ON FACEBOOK

Viewing Parties App Leverages Social Networks to Let You Chat and Watch Favorite TV Shows Live With Your Friends

San Francisco, CA—July 13, 2009--ClipSync, the leading Social TV platform, announced today the launch of ClipSync Viewing Parties for Facebook, the first Facebook application to combine social networking with Social TV allowing friends and others to host, invite and gather on Facebook to watch their favorite TV shows, such as Big Brother 11,  together in a live viewing party.

ClipSync’s Viewing Parties will launch initially with Big Brother 11 and top daytime drama The Young and the Restless, with more shows added weekly. Latest episodes will be available in the Viewing Parties app a few hours after broadcast airing. The Viewing Parties application lets Facebook users schedule a group event, or Viewing Party, for their favorite show,  then send invitations to their Facebook friends to watch these episodes together on the Viewing Parties application.  Those joining Viewing Parties see their favorite show episodes in synchronized video and can interact with each other and the show through pop up comment bubbles, trigger avatar gestures, and by throwing interactable objects at one another and the screen. The experience is powered by ClipSync Social TV, a highly-scalable interaction service and games engine.

“As we’ve done with CBS.com, TV.com, MTV.com and recently MySpace’s Married On MySpace, ClipSync’s Viewing Parties application for Facebook is changing the way people watch TV,” said ClipSync CEO Itzik Cohen. “Facebook provides the perfect setting to launch this application. By combining our Social TV with Facebook’s social network, the Viewing Parties app bridges the gap between TV viewing and the way we socialize.”

The Viewing Parties app also lets users create and join public viewing parties open to like-minded fans. The ability to create public viewing parties enables super-fans and shows’ blog “experts” to further engage their audiences by hosting their own parties.

The ClipSync Viewing Parties app is available at The Viewing Parties landing page and soon from the Facebook application directory.

SHULACED ENTERTAINMENT ARTIST EL CAJON TEZ DEBUTS “THA ALBUM”

SHULACED ENTERTAINMENT ARTIST EL CAJON TEZ MAKES DEBUT WITH RELEASE OF “THA ALBUM”

San Diego, CA--Shulaced Entertainment artist El Cajon Tez releases his first full-length album, THA ALBUM (Shulaced Entertainment / City Hall). Rising up from San Diego’s underground rap scene, Zantez “El Cajon Tez” Avant writes whether he’s rapping or not. “I’m a writer and rap is an outlet. I write everyday and I write about everything… It’s how I process life. I write it down.”

THA ALBUM, produced by DJ Rek, Haze Banga, J Elliot Ness, D. Moss, Cairo, S.C. and BatKave, features the likes of San Diego’s I-Rocc, Dyson, Tommy Redding, Harmoney, Jaz and Jamaica. Tez recorded THA ALBUM at Shulaced Entertainment’s studio, The Lab, known best for where The Jacka and 12 Gauge Shotie’s new album PRICE OF MONEY was recorded.

Tez doesn’t believe circumstance dictates life. The songs on THA ALBUM reflect this notion. Having moved with his mom to San Diego to escape dire circumstances in East St. Louis, he feels that no matter what life throws at you, you have to make things happen for yourself. He raps not only about his own experiences, but of those around him. His biggest inspirations are his life and his kids. “I represent the struggle. I write what I see and experience, whether it’s the party or trying to put food on the table. I look reality dead in the face. I speak on the good and the bad, and some people don’t like the bad but it’s there and I got to talk about it.”

Musically, Tez draws inspiration from hiphop pioneers Snoop, E40, 2Short, Jay-Z, Tupac and Biggie. “If there is a thing called ‘underground’ or ‘mainstream,’ I would be stuck right in the middle,” Tez says of his music. Already a big part of the San Diego Hip hop movement, Tez has performed at San Diego State, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, Faces and House of Blues San Diego opening for Young Jeezy, Lil’ Wayne, and Pitbull.

LOS ANGELES, CA – Almost 30 years after the lights flashed and faded on to the hay-day of Los Angeles’s rockin’ Sunset Strip, Photographer Greg Papazian, has unearthed his amazing collection of original images of some of the 1970’s and 1980’s biggest rock and roll icons such as Led Zeppelin, Peter Frampton, Ike & Tina Turner, The Kinks, Rod Stewart & The Faces, Traffic, The Bee Gees and comedian George Carlin. Greg has curated his photographic anthology into his first ever exhibition “Shooting Sunset: The Whisky Daze of High-Heeled Boys” comprised entirely of Papazian’s most treasured memories, both on and behind the stage, with some of the most influential legends of rock and roll history. The show, which opens with a reception Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 from 6 to 10 p.m. will permanently transform the walls of his family’s renowned shoe repair shop, Eddie’s Rock and Sole in Sherman Oaks, into a Rock Photography Gallery.

As a teenager, Papazian experienced the electrifying music of the 1970’s and 80’s from behind the lens of his 35mm Nikon camera. In the spirit of the times, he would hitchhike over Laurel Canyon after school to Hollywood to photograph the glamorous rock and roll scene of the Sunset Strip. By the age of 17, he was the Official Photographer for the Whiskey A Go Go and staff photographer for Phonograph Record Magazine. Papazian soon endeared himself to the Hollywood elite with his incredible images enabling him to capture hundreds of rare, candid and monumental moments of rock history for other popular venues like The Roxy and The Palace Theatres as well. Encapsulating the era, the photographs of this exhibition tour through late nights at fevered concerts, followed by after-after parties at infamous Hollywood hot-spots like the Hyatt House (aka the “Riot House”).

Papazian shot about 95 percent of the photographs with an 85mm lens, which allowed him to catch compression-free photos while maintaining the maximum depth of field at a very close distance. Papazian still controls all aspects of the photographic process, including everything from the processing of the film to the matting and framing. This personal direction makes each piece a superior quality photographic print. Limited Edition large and small format gelatin silver prints in a variety of sizes, up to 42 x 58 inches, will be available for sale in the gallery and online at GregPapazian.com.

Raquel Allegra Collection

Last night I attended Raquel Allegra's show at Box 8 Studio as part of Fashion Week LA. Her new collection embodies her unique sensibilities: femininity, luxury and rocker chic and in ways even more stunning than her last creations. With richer color, daring prints and edgy cuts that are simultaneously effortless and intense and with a true sense of the body. I was happy to see her branch into men's wear as well! Roar, Raq!

Her fabric has an intriguing history which you can learn more about here:

Robbie Conal Exhibition Opening Oct 18 at TRACK 16

NO SPITTING NO KIDDING

Robbie Conal, one of today's most influential artists and political commentators, will be hosted by Track 16 Gallery with Opening Reception on October 18, 2008 from 6-9pm. NO SPITTING NO KIDDING features over 100 paintings, sketches, posters and other media, spanning Robbie's remarkable career.

View LA TIMES ARTICLE on Robbie.

ROBBIE CONAL: NO SPITTING NO KIDDING

OCTOBER 18 — NOVEMBER 22, 2008

OPENING RECEPTION: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18, 6-9 PM

His [Conal] art is outrageous, unsparing, and constitutes a welcome

offering to the struggles of Americans against war and injustice . . .

his art is therefore to be celebrated by all who see the marriage of

art and politics as playing a vital role in the movement toward a just

society.

—Howard Zinn

My paintings are intended as satirical counterinfotainment. If they

tickle people into thinking along with me about social and political

issues, I’m a happy man.

—Robbie Conal

Santa Monica, CA––In celebration of Robbie Conal’s career as both artist and activist, Track16 Gallery is pleased to present, NO SPITTING NO KIDDING, a monumental retrospective of his work. The exhibition opens on Saturday, October 18, just prior to this year’s history-making Presidential election.

The opening reception is on October 18, from 6 to 9 P.M., and the show runs through Saturday, November 22. Regular gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, from 11 to 6 P.M.

This extensive survey dating from the 1970s through the present traces Conal’s evolution as one of the most important artists and political commentators of our time. He has consistently confronted us with his political fervor, his unrelenting desire to express and dissent, and his biting humor.

The entire gallery space will be filled with Conal’s work. From his early turbulent, ghostly figure paintings based on a baseball pitcher’s throwing motion to the charcoal-on-canvas drawings and oil paintings made for his signature posters, the show brings his work into a gallery setting juxtaposing works found plastered on construction site walls, traffic light switching boxes, freeway underpasses and bus shelters with refined paintings that pack a visual and political punch. Featuring paintings—including his magnum opus: a series of seven large satirical history paintings chronicling the

ironic intersection of politics and popular culture over five decades— and drawings culled from museums, private collections from around the US and Robbie’s personal archive, this exhibition is the most comprehensive Conal survey ever presented to the public.

Conal received an MFA degree from Stanford University in 1978. He taught painting and drawing at the University of Southern California’s Roski School of Fine Arts for 12 years. He was a participant in the www.droppingknowledge.org “Table of Free Voices” event in East Berlin on Sept. 9th, 2006. His postering raids have been featured in major newspapers: the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post and national periodicals: Time, Newsweek, Vanity Fair, People, Interview, BOMB., I.D., Print, Beautiful/Decay, as well as CBS’s This Morning, Charlie Rose, The Bill Maher Show, Life & Times on KCET and MTV News. He was the subject of the 1992 documentary, Post No Bills. He has also written two books, Art Attack: The Midnight Politics Of A Guerrilla Artist and ARTBURN, a collection of his work published in the alternative newspaper L.A.Weekly. Conal will be included in the portfolio Line Drive, published by Hamilton Press in October, 2008. This limited edition portfolio of 13 hand pulled lithographs celebrates the participating artists’ love of baseball; artists include R.B. Kitaj, Ed Ruscha, John Baldessari, Michael C. McMillen, and Raymond Pettibon among others. Conal has been awarded grants by th National Endowment for the Arts, The City of Los Angeles (“COLA” grant), and the Getty Trust.

He lives and works in Mar Vista, CA.

UPDATE: An Open Letter To The USPS

Just wanted to let you know, USPS, I'm still waiting. My niece has learned a few more words (she's very smart). Maybe she can find the package? I've already shown her how to use my laptop. Maybe when her present gets to her she can wear it to pre-school interviews? There's still time.

Speaking of kids, I'm lucky to have a lot of them in my life. But some aren't as fortunate, USPS. Some have been taken. So, I'm driving around the country looking for Missing Children. I sure do hope we find them. You can keep up with me HERE.

If you want, I can try and find my niece's present while I'm hoofing it out here on the road. You can also track my package (you know, if you have the internet and the inclination) at USPS.COM. C'mon, you know you want to try it, USPS!

The updated travels of My Niece's First Birthday Present:

An Open Letter to the US Postal Service

Dear USPS:

Can you please get your act together. A vendor shipped me a gift for my niece on August 21. To date it has crisscrossed the country no less than 5 times. Why it even made it out of Massachusetts is beyond me really-- both the vendor and my niece live in the Bay state. I live in Los Angeles, maybe you knew this? Are you occasionally intuitive? No, can't be because NOBODY involved lives in Nashua, NH (though I've visited several times and well it's a nice little town). I called to tell you that I could help you, but you hung up on me. :-(

I tried again, only to hear that you do not have access to information about my package and it's only provided to me as a courtesy, yet I did nothing to identify myself as the recipient other than entering the tracking number into the search field on your site. Go ahead, you try it, it's super easy. You too can pull the same info as me. I tried to explain this to you and even encouraged you to jump on the information super highway yourself to give it a whirl but you again hung up on me. Do you have an iphone 3g? Is that why our calls keep getting disconnected?

Long story short USPS, I would just like my niece to get her present before she goes to college. It's fair warning, she's only 1 now. I'm even willing to have you ship it back to the vendor (the vendor and i discussed this at length and she's TOTALLY cool about it). Heck, send it to me. I could probably hand deliver it faster. Or even, FEDEX it for guaranteed delivery. I mean, geez, with the cost of fuel and the airlines charging baggage (that's right airlines, stick it to us, we can fit everything into those damn terror-proof ziplock bags now anyway), I'm concerned you may be blowing your budget with all this volleying the country with my niece's present. In short USPS, I really just want to see the bright glowing 4 toothed smile of my 1 year old niece

For your convenience, I've pasted the details of this package's journey below.

Thanks and best,
Paula Gould
Consumer, Publicist, Aunty.

Ps. I think it goes without saying the shipping costs are on you. We could pretend it was the lottery and you could hand me a huge check for $5.95. But I may just be content on getting the damn package.

Fireball Run & LuxuryLifestyle.com Setting Out To Help Find America's Missing Children

I'm Driving 3500 Miles to Find Missing Kids. Okay, I'm not really driving. But I will be sitting pretty in the most pimped out Escalade Limousine you've ever seen as part of the 2nd Annual FIREBALL RUN TRANSCONTINENTAL RALLY AND RACE TO FIND AMERICA'S MISSING CHILDREN.

Here's the deal, LuxuryLifestyle.com, for whom I handle PR and with whom I am the acting editor of the monthly LuxuryLifestyle.com newsletter, and I are hitting the road with LIMO BOB. And his entourage (How else would we roll?). As such, Amanda McConnell, COO and Jacques Milon, CEO of LuxuryLifestyle.com and I (Team 98) as well as the other Fireball Run Teams are each sponsoring a child through the CHILD RESCUE NETWORK, for whose endeavor it is to bring awareness about all of America's missing children. We'll be twittering, blogging, and hitting everyone up that we know for assistance in spreading awareness about these children as well as our shenanigans through out the 9 day 3500 mile race, eh em, Rally (which includes teams driving a Delorian from Back To The Future, Bat Mobile from the hit TV show, and K.I.T. from Knight Rider--um, the Hasselhoff years--like, the real K.I.T.). The Fireball Run begins in Baton Rouge, LA on September 25, 2008 ending in Grand Rapids, MI on October 4, 2008.

Team 98 (that's us) is sponsoring Yamile Aguilar, who along with her sister Vieridiana, were abducted from Shafter, CA on September 6, 2005 by Hugo Garcia Aguilar. They may have been traveling in a gray 1987 Pontiac Grand AM with CA license plate # 2ESZ563. Anyone with information should contact the Shafter Police Department at 661-746-6341 or the Child Rescue Network at 877-209-5437 ext 82. This is Yamile:

Here are the other Fireball Run sponsored missing children. Please do all you can to help us with this most important endeavor:
